I came back from Virginia Beach earlier this summer with so many new cookie ideas! We saw poison dart frogs at the Virginia Aquarium and their colors were amazing. These poison dart frog decorated cookies are my sweet version of these beautiful (yet dangerous) animals.

I think these cookies would go perfectly with these lily pad decorated cookies. The full video tutorial, printable template, supply list, instructions, and recipes are available in the Cookie Art Club!

I used the royal icing transfer method to create these frog decorated cookies. To do this, I printed out a template on paper (the template is available to members of the Cookie Art Club) and placed it underneath a piece of wax paper.

Then, I piped the frog with royal icing in layers, starting with the bottom layers and working my way up, letting each one dry in between.

Before the icing dried, I added spots of different colors with edible luster dust and edible paint, which were inspired by the real frogs that we saw at the Virginia Aquarium.
