The Isomalt and sparkling sugar create a beautiful frosted glass look on these cookies. You can place fairy lights or flameless candles behind the cookies to make them glow!
Leaving the melted Isomalt in the oven at 350˚F for 15-20 minutes makes a huge difference in the clarity of the finished product.
I used pre-cooked Isomalt from Simi Cakes for this project. It’s very easy to melt and use!



Here’s what you’ll need to make these beautiful decorated cookies for Valentine’s Day
These supplies are available in my Amazon store unless otherwise noted
- Chilled sheet of cookie dough (I used my gingerbread cookie recipe)
- 4” and 2.75” Ann Clark heart cookie cutters
- Knife to trim cookies
- Royal icing
- Fuschia and Brown food coloring (I used Ann Clark brand food coloring)
- Pre-cooked isomalt (I used Simi Cakes brand)
- Silicone mat (I used a Silpat)
- Sparkling sugar (I used King Arthur brand)
- Scribe tool
- 3 12” Decorating bags
- Decorating tips Wilton 1 and 2, PME tip 1.5
- Couplers & Bag ties (I used Wilton brand)
- Flameless candles
